Plant A Seed, Read

This summer, we’re digging deep! Our Plant a Seed, Read Summer Reading program celebrates the connection between the food that sustains us and the stories that inspire us. Join us as we explore the journey from farm to table and library to mind. Whether you're planting your first garden or harvesting a new favorite series, there’s room for everyone to grow at the library.

Summer Reading is a FREE program for all ages, and no registration is required. 

There will be 2 sessions to choose from, and they will be held at the library in the Community Room.

8 Tuesdays: June 2, June 9, June 16, June 23, June 30, July 7, July 14, and July 21.

• Session 1 will be from 9:30 - 10:15
• Session 2 will be from 10:30 - 11:15

June 2: Swords & Roses: In Search of Buried Treasure

• Kick off Summer Reading at the library and join us in welcoming Swords and Roses for a unique and engaging performance as sword-fighting pirates search for treasure!

June 6:  Quincy Community Theatre: Fast Food 

• A play suitable for K-6 grade, "Fast Food by Tracy Wells serves up a series of bite-sized episodes set at a fictional MacBurger’s restaurant. And who knows? Between crazy customer complaints, staff pranks, and lost mascots, we may finally answer life’s greatest mystery—can’t we all just get along? And why is the ice cream machine always broken?

June 16: Quincy Children's Museum

• Join us for Summer Reading at the library as the Quincy Children's Museum visits!

June 23: Mad Science Fire & Ice 

• Join the Brown County Public Library for a scientifically good time as Mad Science of St. Louis puts on an extraordinary display of scientific feats at Summer Reading!

June 30: The Magic of Jim Percy

• Experience the magic of Summer Reading at the library when Magician Jim Percy makes his triumphant return!

July 7: Mike Lockett

• Join us for an engaging program with Dr. Mike Lockett, The Normal Storyteller.

July 14: Josh McVicar the Trickster

• Join us for fun with Josh McVicar, who is a master hypnotist and both an up-close and stage magician.

July 21: Foam Party

• Get ready for a bubbly blast of fun at our Foam Party! Enjoy mountains of cool, fluffy foam!
